November 23 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Join DC SCORES poet-athletes on November 23 at Westside poetry slam! This year’s event will take place at Howard University.
Thousands of young people from our elementary school programs west of the Anacostia River will take the stage as they perform original spoken word poetry in a competition judged by some of the top poets in the DMV.
DC SCORES slams are the biggest youth poetry events in the DMV, with more than 3,000 young people performing over three nights. For more information about our program, visit our What We Do page.
This event is free and open to the public, and you do not need a ticket to attend.
Note: Howard University operates a strict bag policy. Bags larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ and professional camera equipment are not allowed in the auditorium. Please review the full bag policy before attending.
Parents and families, please contact your school’s coach for information about bus pick-up and drop-off for the event. Please note that doors will open for audience seating at 9:15am.
