30 for 30 Campaign
This year, DC SCORES is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Our organization was founded in 1994 by a D.C. public school teacher looking to create extracurricular opportunities for girls in her class. From that first girls’ team, DC SCORES has grown into an international movement serving more than 25,000 young people across North America.
Our milestone represents a moment to not only celebrate our past, but cement our future. Our 30 for 30 campaign aims to sign up 30 new monthly DC SCORES donors between September 18 and 30. By supporting our work on a recurring basis, you can help us sustain our soccer, poetry, and service learning programs for years to come.
For three decades, DC SCORES has supported District youth through our award-winning out-of-school-time programs. We aim to deliver on a bold promise: to make DC SCORES available to every child in the District who needs us. Our goal is to transform D.C. into a Poet-Athlete City by clearing our waitlist of 14 schools, bringing the program to every Title 1 middle school in the city, and to every elementary school feeding into those Title 1 middle schools. By creating pipelines for poet-athletes to experience our program from 1st to 8th grade, we can raise a new generation of changemakers in our city who are physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy.
Why monthly giving?
Monthly donations allow us to plan and invest in long-term impact, and they are one of the most powerful ways you can make a difference.
Will you help us reach more young people waiting for DC SCORES? Become a recurring donor today and help us build a Poet-Athlete City here in D.C.
